AB System Spy is also known as Spyware.ABSystemSpy (as per the Symantec Threat Directory). This malware is quite dangerous and should be removed as soon as possible. Upon entering the system, it can monitor all user activity, such as, monitor keystrokes, and even capture screenshots.
This malware can be transmitted only through manual installation, which therefore reduces its threat. However, if some person activates the program on your computer you could be spied upon. Even confidential information such as passwords and credit card numbers will be available to the person who is spying on you. Therefore, immediate removal of AB System Spy is recommended.
To remove the AB System Spy, you must perform 4 steps:
1. Uninstall the software: Do this by going to Start>Control Panel> Add Remove Programs , and find the software by the name of AB System Spy, and remove it.
2. Update the virus definitions of your antivirus software and the threat definitions of your anti-spyware software.
3. Run scans using both the antivirus and the antispyware software.
4. Registry edits: You must finally check and remove certain entries from the registry. Do this by first running “regedit” using the run command in Start> Run. Locate the list of registry entries below, and delete them:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\AB System Spy v5.1.1 build 3_is1
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\SSystem

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\AB System Spy v5.1.1
Then go to the subkey:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Installer\Folders and delete the entry in the right pane which says: “abss” = “c:\program files\ssystem v5.1.1 build 3\system.exe”
These steps should successfully remove all the threats from the AB System Spy spyware. It is recommended that you change your passwords and other confidential information after this for security reasons.
